Best socks to wear??? Are there any that keep your feet dry as I seem to get out in the rain at the moment (not this week granted)

I have a couple of skin to skin socks, going to get some more, but before I do, thought I would ask all you lovely people out there...

My new trainers I cant wear without socks, I like to train sometimes in them at the gym to see what my feet are like after, then I know I will be able to run in them without any problem xx

Just a thought... xx

I'm waiting forward to hear the answers to this as I sit here with blistered toes.

Edit: if you have blisters, could be the size of your shoes. Perhaps too narrow of a shoe on a wide foot...

the running room and like stores have special socks for running. they are two thins layers of sock. the layers rub against each other instead of your skin so you are less prone to blisters. as for keeping dry, don't think they invented socks that keep your feet dry...going to have to look at shoes for that.

I love my SmartWool running socks.
I've heard really good things about Balega too, but haven't tried them.

For day to day or gym work outs I wear the bamboo fabric socks from Sam's club, not sure the brand. For running I have some made by Gold Toe that I bought from Academy that I love and after 6 months I am now finding are wearing out. They weren't very expensive, but well worth it.

I like Drymax socks. I use both the regular running quarter sock as well as their trail running sock. I have even used them during activities where my feet get completely submerged and they dry pretty quickly.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my zulu socks - got them at the Big Peach Running Company in Atlanta and they are the BEST socks ever:drinker:   you can buy them online as well - I bought a 3-pack at the store and found myself going to them everytime I put on any kind of tennis shoe/sneaker. Asked for another 3 pack for my birthday, and I'd wear them every day if I could get away with sneakers at work! I've recommended them to lots of my friends, and every single one of them raves about them as well. They are a bit "cushy", but in all the right places. :flowerforyou:

I don't know that they will help with dryness in the rain, but Asics Intensity Low socks (I order them at Holabirdsports.com) are my preferred socks for my long runs and have never given me blisters-- a very snug fit with a bit of cushioning. I also like the C9 socks (at target), but they're a little thinner and have sometimes been problematic on really long runs.

I can't speak from experience - haven't bought any *yet* - but I ran at UROC (the "trailrunner championship") this week and injiinji was promoting their stuff. They are apparently serious about their "performance toesocks". All they do is socks so that's what I thought of when I saw your post.
  • Feetures performance socks (feeturesbrand dot com) are excellent. Thin, wicking and low friction.
