I finished my first round of P90X about 2 and a half weeks ago. It was amazing. I lost 21lbs and built plenty of muscle to boot. Arms are looking better, my endurance is much better. I will say this... P90X is more, a program to improve fitness, rather than lose weight though. You'll get stronger and more firm but the number on the scale may not change all that much. There were a couple weeks for me where it didn't change AT ALL. Just remember, it's more how your clothes fit than a number. I went from a 38 pant and large shirts to medium shirts (which are loose) and size 34 pant.

I'm just a couple of days short of finishing week 4 of p90x and it has been a crazy journey so far.

I actually started a couple months ago. I wasn't too concerned about missing a day here or there and I had the deluded idea that since I wasn't gaining weight that if I ate the same and started p90x that the pounds would just melt off. Ha! Yeah, right!

Eventually I decided to restart p90x and get serious about my nutrition. I have only missed a couple of days of working out (and have always managed to catch up by doubling up on another day). I am now carefully watching my calories. On the 1/2 pound per week diet, I've actually lost 5 pounds in 3.5 weeks. I know I lost more fat than that but I haven't seen it so much on the scale because I've gained a lot of muscle too.

The first couple of weeks I didn't notice a whole lot except that I didn't feel like I was going to die 10 minutes into the workout like I did those first few days. In the last week though, I've starting see major results start rolling in. I've been losing weight, you can see the muscle definition in my arms and my upper abs (lower abs are still hiding behind a shrinking fat pocket). My flexability went from non-existant to CRAZY. My endurance is up. My resting heart rate went from the 80's to the low 60's.

It has been worth it and I can't wait to see what happens in the next two months!

    My tips for you:
    1) Make sure you are ready for this! Don't think it's something you can do casually because it isn't!
    2) Keep on your nutrition and figure out how to make it work with your workouts. I always eat before working out because otherwise I crash mid-workout. Find what works for you, but count your calories and stick with it!
    3) Water, water, water, water, water... did I mention water?
    4) Be patient! You may not feel and see results right away, but have the courage to stick with it and know that it will pay off!
    5) Keep it in perspective. Missing a workout because you'r sick isn't the end of the world. That doesn't mean you should let every little tiny sniffle and pain keep you away! Going over your calories one day or eating one hamburger does not mean you are a bad inconstant person with no hope to reach your goals. It means you messed up and next time (tomorrow or even 5 minutes from now) you can make a better choice.

    Good luck!
