so im trying to get back on losing weight, stopped the past month but during summer i lost 24 pounds in a spam of 3 months. now i have the following choices

gym ( which would be 20min treadmill 40min elliptical) - only downside is it will be getting cold
30ds- i have a cruise in 30 days so this will motivate me to stay on it
p90x- 90 days till end of year, so this will be something i can continue for a while

im having a really hard time deciding what to do...

It depends on what you want to get out of it/what you need to stay on track. Some people prefer the gym because you can get a trainer, or you can get a workout buddy to keep going. At home programs like 30DS and P90X are convenient, and by comparison to gym memberships, CHEAP. Yeah you have to buy weights or bands and a pull-up bar, but that's less than a year membership at a gym. But you have to find ways of motivating yourself. I'm not at a point where I'm comfortable working out at a gym, I'm too competitive and would end up hurting myself so P90X/Insanity work great for me. But I'm also too stubborn to NOT workout, even if I'm crazy tired, sick, whatever. That's the downside to doing it at home, you really don't have to if you don't want to.

Do the one you'll keep doing. There is no BEST exercise. Squats, deadlifts and pullups are 3 of "best" exercises that should be done, but if a person doesn't do them, then they are worthless to their list.

Insanity is a good workout program and has a lot of interval training in it.

It's really important if you don't follow the nutrition guide that comes with it, to AT LEAST eat clean and watch your portions. P90X has a progressive diet guide that raises the amount of calories you can eat as you complete each phase and allows for more carbs, etc.

It works if you stick to it, but if you can't/don't want to follow the diet guide, just watch what you're eating. Cut sugars, fats, etc. No fast food, no soda, only lean meats, you get the idea. If you push hard you might be able to lose that last 30 in one round of it. Depends on how hard you work and which version you follow. There's classic which will bulk/tone you up. Lean routine (pretty obvious what that does). And doubles, which is classic with extra cardio on your resistance days to help shed the pounds. I dropped 21 the first time and didn't follow the guide at all. Just watched my foods and supplemented TONS of protein.
