Advice #1: plan out your meals and log your calories ahead of time
    Advice #2: exercise every day

Diet Plan: use the basic strategy behind Weight Watchers (count calories; eat everything in healthy portions; lots of veggies and fruits, limited amounts of fats and carbs). It is safe and sensible, there is a ton of info about it readily available, and it has the best track record out there.

    Good luck to you!!!

We have a variety of cook books (there are a ton on the market these days) with low cal/ low fat recipes. The key is to find something that you like. In your case, you may want to look for kid friendly, so you can engage your energetic nieces in the cooking adventure. Be sure to find a cookbook that has the calorie info included with each recipe so that you can easily track it on myfitnesspal. Here is an example: http://www.amazon.com/Cooking-Essential-Dinner-Tonight-Cookbook/dp/0848733029/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1317478332&sr=8-3
  • Thanks everyone !
  • i have been doing the MFP for about two months and it helps me tremendously. Knowing what you eat is half the battle! People often belive that running for thirty minutes or more on a treadmil is good cardio, while they're right, anerobic exercise (weight lifting) is much better. Check out bodybuilding and see what it says as far as training. It's free and gives you step by step directions for trainin and eating. I hope this helps a bit.
