I do not like lettuce. I have been a vegetarian for a long time and have eaten wayyy to many salads. We always have it in the house and it always goes bad because I don't really like it.....(I don't buy it, but I am the main cook).... So what else can you do with lettuce other then on sandwiches and in salads?

Add it to smoothies or lightly sautee it in a little bit of olive oil, salt pepper and a drizzle of lemon.
  • I use it as a wrap for cold cuts, taco meat, etc.

Have you ever tried grilled romaine heart? It's really yummy. Lots of recipes for this dish..try something that sounds good. I cut the romaine heart in two and put them on the preheated grill for just a couple of minutes. Brush the heart with balsamic vinegar (not too much because the heart will absorb it in all the folds between the leaves and it can be very strong). Top the heart with halved cherry tomatoes, crushed up croutons, sunflower seeds, and shredded parmesan. YUM.

Grow it in the garden, or in a window box. Take as much as you need, and plant a seed to replace it. Eating it fresh just gives you a whole new appreciation for it.
