I've been doing some research after I heard about zig zag dieting and it seems like something I'm interested in. Anyone here have any experience with it? How did it work for you?

It works wonderful for me!! I got down to my goal weight, which is the lowest weight of my adult life by doing it!! This is my schedule:

    Monday 1600 cal
    Tuesday 1600 cal
    Wednesday 1800
    Thursday 1400
    Friday 1450 to 1500
    Saturday 1800
    Sunday 1400

It works great.....I also keep an eye on my carbs, protein, fat and fiber......no more than 200 g of carbs, 100 to 150 g of protein, 30 max of fat g, and 30 plus of fiber......

    good luck!

I'm using Zig Zagging as well. I don't have a pattern but I try to keep the range 1200-1600. Once I reach the high end I go back down to the low end for a day or so. Its been working for me and I have lost 28lbs in a 2 1/2 months. I don't get bored or discouraged because of having a low set calorie amount. Give it a try and see how it does. To me the science behind it makes perfect sense....keep your metabolism guessing:smile:

I zigzag but it's more about having weekend calorie flexiblity. I try to average 1700 calories a day so if I eat 1200 2 days during the week I can splurge a little on Saturday without worry - pizza and mtn dew on gamedays!

Personally I try to eat well all week and take one day to have a treat. I think it's good for me mentally, if nothing else. If I honestly thought I could never eat certain things again, I don't think I could keep it up. It seems to work for me, and I've still been able to lose a steady amount of weight. Whether it actually "tricks" my metabolism or not, I don't know, but I'm pretty happy with the system. A lot of experts seem to say eat really healthy 80% of the time, and splurge 20% of the time, or some similar ratio. That amounts to about the same thing. Some people say they go overboard if they allow themselves a day "off" but I know I need it for myself.

I've been doing this sort of thing as well. Not really intentionally, just happen to be a lot of weekend splurging lately. I thought for sure I would have gained but ended up losing a good amount!
