For making healthy options convenient? The excuse I often hear and use is that eating healthier takes too long/is not convenient.

I just spent some time cutting up produce, mostly veggies and packing it into grab-able portions. I label each baggie with how many calories are there...which also helps with my logging of calorie intake....

Just did grapes, celery, carrots, broccoli. These are for fast on the go snacking.

This way, I don't have the excuse that the processed stuff (chips, cookies etc) are easier/faster/quicker. I do eat a couple of different brands/types of bars that are minimally processed and/or organic......

I also did a few larger size portions for steaming as sides for sit down meals.

I try to boil up some eggs because they make a great quick protein source.

What do you do to make healthy eating convenient, so you'll actually do it/stick to it?

Plan ahead. Make a shopping list, always take my food - lunch and snacks for the day.

yep, planning ahead. Sunday I use to plan the following weeks dinners, once I have dinner covered I fill in the blanks.

Ditto that. Planning what I'll eat for the day and taking it with me wherever I go so that there aren't any surprises, and don't have to just grab something because I'm hungry.
  • I love using cute little bento boxes to carry healthy snacks in. Cutting fruits, vegetables and cheeses up the night before doesn't seem like such a hassle when I have a cute little box in the fridge waiting for me in the morning

Planning! Yes! I was just thinking today that I have gotten really good at planning the week out... but not good about planning my weekends. I need to plan them even if they include a treat, or something high calorie or booze or whatever... I need to HAVE A PLAN.

I cook things in batches and separate and bag and freeze... And ziploc's zip 'n' steam bags are my friend.

I like to have a cooking marathon on Sunday and eat leftovers for the rest of the week.

I carry a Lara Bar or a little bag of almonds and raisins in my purse, so i'm never stranded for food.
