How do you handle vacations?

I am just back from my vacation to Uzbekistan,

I am a food lover and love to try new things and dishes, so I also did it on this vacation. Without internet and without knowing exactly all ingredients I didn't log anything for this 2 weeks, just expected 3000-4500 calories per day. Uzbekistan food is really delicious but not really low calorie. The only exercise I did was skipping taxi rides as much as possible and walking to all sights (2-3 hours/day). I am back now with 2kg more on my hips, but it was worth it :)

My question is now, how do you handle your vacations? Still strict on plan?

I have no idea how to log it either so I go with portion control and hope for the best.

    Sounds like an amazing time!

I guess if you have to travel a lot for work, you'd have to readjust your habits. But if it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing, why not indulge? Seriously, if you gain a bit of weight while on vacation, what's the big deal? How often do you get to go to Uzbekistan? Lol!

kappd...I have one question for you. If I am reading correctly it looks like you have lost 40 pounds in 2 months. CONGRATS! If there are some tips or ideas you could give me I would appreciate it. It has been one month for me and I think it 16 pounds for me. The truth is though I feel fantastic and I love MFP. I know I need to get in more exercise.
