6 am workout...?

Ok I am a night owl, and feel so much energy at night than any part of the day. Though I say that but now since I have morning classes I do feel a bit sluggish, but I find it hard to get any well worth exercising in especially when now I have a job. I won't exercise in the evening becaue I either have to study or cook for the fam, and by the time I am done its dark out since fall is coming. Wondering if its wise to get up when the sun is for a workout for a night owl? I would greatly appreciate someone's opinion on this. xp

    I am pretty sure it would be really hard at first, but like anything else your body would adjust to the new schedule.

    I go to bed at 3am every night, I wake up at about 6-7 (depends when class is) just to workout, have a lot more energy for the day. I will say I have the fact that Im only 20 on my side

    I'm sure you could get use to it, if you really wanted to.

    I have a lot of classes, mostly morning and things to do so I've decided to walk home from school.
    It takes me about an hour to get home on the bus and about an hour to walk, so it works out.

    I'm a night-owl myself and the idea of waking up at the butt-crack of dawn to exercise...I can't even wrap my head around the idea. I can barely fall into my clothes at six-thirty.

    Sleep is just as important as exercise for your body.
  • You can go to your library and check out work out dvds that require no sun. That way you can work out in the evening. I am a morning girl myself, and it would be really hard to switch up my work out time.
  • To be honest I don't think I am either a night owl or a morning person. Basically I love my sleep! When I first started this I was on holiday from work so I had more time for exercise. I had become dependant on the extra cals exercise gave me so on going back to work as my evenings were quite busy I decided to get up at 5.30am to fit exercise in. I actually felt great after I had exercised and way more awake during the day. I unfortunately got out of the habit and I am now thinking of bringing it back! Just trying to remember how much better I felt but atm I am really tired as I didn't sleep much last night! Maybe I will force myself up tomorrow and that will in turn help me sleep better. It is really hot here at the moment so that can make it harder to sleep as our houses don't have air con. Just central heating! The world has gone mad. It should be getting cold now but I am back in my summer dresses! Lol
  • :drinker: Wow thanks for the tips ya'll I really appreciate it, and I hope that some of you who wanted to get back in the groove find success.
    I think I will go to the gym early in the morning when I have school so that I may get my workout that I needed found out they have it opened at 4 in the morning! So during the week its major time for the gym and on weekends Ill do the afternoon workouts.

  • just finished a 20 min workout at 6 am. A little bit later then i would have hoped but it was my first morning back on it! I will have a day off from exercising tomorrow as I have an early class but I will be back at it on Thursday and Friday. Then some nice lay ins at the weekend and a longer workout during the day or evening if I get the chance. Got a hectic weekend this weekend so possibly not.
  • Out of curiousity did you do any 6 am workouts? I have just done my second one. About to head in the shower to get ready for work. Got to continue this!
