Really interested in what people have their macros (carbs, protein, fat) set at and how they came to those numbers.
For anyone who has set their own numbers (not the MFP ones which are really low in protein) how did you decide on your split?

click on the goals tab on the home page, then change goals down the bottom. You can alter the macros there.0 -

Thanks Emma!!
Wow, I didn't realise they measured protein so low and carbs so high. I'm going to set mine to 40c 30p & 30f0 -
I don't feel so bad about going over in protein and under in carbs now...0

40C/30P/30F. I realized that this split is what I can comfortably do without reducing myself to cravings. I get everything!0

40/30/30 but I just started this split so I'm not sure if I'm happy with it yet. Hope to see some more replies, good topic.0

That being 40% carbs 30% protein 30% fat. oops shouldn't have left that out.0

40% protein, 30% fat, 30% carbs.0

50/25/25
A low day for me is about 1800 calories, and that gives me a protein goal close to my lean mass. I run about 3x a week, so carbs are good friends of mine.0 -
50/25/25. I tried 40/30/30 for a while but was ALWAYS over in carbs...so 50% carbs works a lot better for me.0

Might want to recheck yours if that's the case.
As for me, I'm on 40/35/25 at the moment, but I can't rest on a set amount for too long it seems, as I'm constantly trying to adjust it to a better split for lean muscle. I just can't decide0 -

I try to be under my carb #s because I'm diabetic. But, I'm usually over in fat because I like my nuts.0 -

The whole point of macros is to change your eating habits. You shouldn't adjust your macros to fit your eating habits you should adjust your eating habit to fit your macros.0 -
60% Fat
30% Protein
10% Carbs0 -
50P/30C/20F0

50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% fats. I am trying to add muscle mass and am a hardgainer. This seemed to be the most common split between different articles as well as the USADA nutritional guide.0

30 C / 25 P / 45 F
Because too many carbs makes me over eat in general. 25% protein gives me 93g a day...I'm on maintenance, and it's what has worked for me.0 -
45% carbs, 25% protein, and 30% fat. I just changed it. I was doing more protein and less carbs before and I felt too sluggish and deprived. I dont have much weight to lose so Im going at a slower pace.0

5% carbs, 65% fat, 30% protein....
There it is....let the flaming begin... :laugh:0 -
34% carbs
33% protein

I set the grams of my macros to specific #'s based off of IIFYM.0 -
40 carbs, 30 fat, 30 protein
This is where I am comfy and I can meet them.0
