Exercise Calories
What does everyone do with these? Do you eat them? I noticed today that the food page has added my 597 swimming calories to my daily total but I take it that I do not have to eat any or all of them unless I absolutely need to cos I am hank marvin?
Any advice for me please anyone?
Many thanks.

Word on the street is that you should try and eat them back.
It's all about netting.0 -
Exercise calories simply means surplus calories earned through activity. Ex. If you want to lose 2 lbs per week, you need to be under (green) 1000 cal per day.0

hi there
I tend to ignore the "you have gained another 598 calories from excersize" as I find myself adding every little thing to the excersize section just to have something more to eat.
I find that they are very generous with the amount of calories you say you have burnt and don't really trust it. So I tend to try and ONLY eat the calories i have burnt.
I don't know yet whther this is a good idea or not, so i would suggest you just stick to your dailly amount and drink lots of water etc to try and stave of Mr H Marvin!0 -
I dont eat my excercise calories back! I maintain my weight if i do! Soo its best for me just to stick to 1300 cals a day, and whatever calories i burn, i keep it at that. If i am hungry at night i go to the fridge and grab a bottle of water! and that fills me right up till breakfast
You should juggle around a bit, try 2 weeks with eating your excercise cals back, and then try a following 2 weeks by not eating your excercise cals back and see which one you loose lbs with! good luck0 -
The best advice I have seen on this subject is to eat the extra calories if you get really hungry and water and veggies don't help, eat a few of the extra calories.0

We are all here to try and re-educate our bodies and minds into eating not only less than before but better. For me, personally I don't eat back all my exercise calories as I never lose then, I concentrate on making sure I get enough protein and fibre and not much fat or sugar. If I'm not hungry I don't eat. I don't think it's as simple as calorie intake.
Do an experiment for yourself. I did a week eating all calories back and a week not and put back 2lbs eating all calories back so now I do what works for me. I know however that others swear by eating them all back. Good luck0 -
i try never to eat them think of them as a bonus!0

Thanks everyone. I think that judging by those comments I am going to try not to eat them and count them as a bonus and a big pat on the back for me!!0

I make sure to net 1200. After that I may or may not eat the calories.
I ALWAYS do on Saturday.0
