After battling with a steady, yet pretty much unexplainable, weight gain over the last 4 years, I've come to the conclusion that something went haywire with my hormones when I went off birth control.

So, I did some research this weekend and came across a plan by Dr. Natasha Turner called The Hormone Diet. I ordered the book from Amazon, but I thought I'd post on here and see if anyone has experience with this plan, successes, pros/cons, all that good stuff.

Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions/experience would also be much appreciated!!

I've studied Turner's Hormone Diet, and the premise is actually rather simple. She's attempting to get you to be able to balance the hormones of your body to what she believes they naturally should be. We're talking about a hormonal overhaul that may or may not even be possible through the methods she puts froward, but there's little to refute or to corroborate her claims at this time.

On the simplest of foundations she's absolutely right that your body would be better suited for weight loss with the proper hormonal balance, but any endocrinologist you speak with will likely be quite sceptical about achieving this balance through Turner's method given that there are so many complex variables involved in achieving hormonal balance.

    Good luck.

It's probably better to see your doctor on this matter, because you will gain weight as you get older. Your metabolism slows a little every year, but most people continue with the same eating patterns.
