I am seriously thinking of going on a scale vacation. Maybe a month? I used to weigh every week. Heck, I used to weigh once every 3 weeks or so. Now I am back to daily and it is driving me freekin insane. Too much sodium, scale is up, drink lots of water, scale is down, all to stay in the same exact 2 lb range with no loss, and these 2 lbs either make me happy, or not. And I am tired of it determining if the day is good or bad. Sorta like the checkbook, huh? LOL. I do realize there are other ways to show progress....but you need to be MAKING progress to show it. PHEW. Maybe getting this rant out of the way will help.....LOL **getting head on straight** No one to blame for success or failure but me.

Ditch the scale!!! Doesn't matter how small or how big your goal is. At this rate, you're going to start weighing yourself everytime you poop and that's rediculous. Set your weekly or daily goals (mine is sometimes hourly) and do your best. Track your sodium if that's giving you issues. Make it a point to drink a certian amount of water every day. But don't become obsessed. It's a sure recipe for disaster. Good luck.
  • My mom used to do the whole weigh in every day thing. She stole my scale to do it!! Then she started working with a personal trainer. He yelled at her and told her she was banned from weighing in more then once a week. She finally gave me the scale back because she found she couldn't stop weighing herself if she had the scale in the house. Course I broke the scale so I'm thinking she should've kept it.

Id have to agree, but this halloween i was a good tiara wearing queen :P I lost weight and feeling great but even better im not touching candy ever again.. My comfort food is shrimp and butter and some nice tea :) but really ditch the scale is a good idea i know i used to weigh myself everyday and it was depressing then i just forgot about the scale and did it weekly and ive been seeing results.

I never or very rarely use the scale. You should go by look and feel. How do you look in the mirror? How do you feel? What are others saying?
Hey, you look great. Hey. I feel great! get it?

    Yea! You look great!

I am just starting (only worked out two weeks before I started MFP, then i got my TOM and didnt feel up to it) but I am afraid of the scale, lmao.
I have to get weighed monthly by the nurse because I go in for prescription refills and they always weigh me.
I have different ways that I know what I'm doing is working

#1 my engagement ring feels loose and moves around
#2 my bra feels loose around my ribs
#3 face looks thinner/cheekbones more prominent

My ring is already starting to feel looser, and in some positions my bra is starting to feel loose around my ribs.. yay! I might jump on the scale today just to see but I'm not sure. I feel like if I start weighing myself too much I will become obsessed
