She is an inspiration, and one of my closest friends.

If she can come back from this horrifying experience to run a half marathon, what's your excuse for not moving?

Sometimes, the bigger the obstacle, the more determined you can be.

I was semi hoping to do a half-marathon this coming weekend (having started running from scratch this summer) but stress fractures put a stop to that.

I'm /so/ looking forward to recovery and trying again in the new year!

No excuses, not ever. This just shows that anyone can do it. Really there are no excuses. Well, anyone who can physically still do stuff. I know eventually things give out, but I'm in my 30's. I see people a lot younger with no responsibilities. Unfortunately until you have no time, or an illness, you never really realize it.

  • Glad you all enjoyed it! Every time I think "eh, I don't want to walk today" (I have a bad knee and have tried running, it's just too painful, I walk really fast though, LOL) I think about Lysa and her struggle to get back out there.

I have heard, and have given, every excuse in the book. Once it clicks for people, it clicks!
