It's difficult for me to believe that there is only one race local to my area between now and the end of the year. Does anyone know where i can go to get a pretty comprehensive calendar?

Search on active.com for local races. You might be able to find more.0

Maybe call or stop by one of your local running stores or see if you have a local running club. They usually have info on local races that may or may not be online. Best of luck!0

runningintheusa.com
They have more postings than active.com and easier to navigate.
Good luck!0 -
coolrunning.com usually has all the races.0

When I googled "Running Races Michigan" it took me to a website called "RunningMichigan.com" - there may be one in your state.0

Google Charlotte NC running race
The first four hits i get seem pretty comprehensive (RunningInTheUsa, Charlotte Running co, Runners World and Run for your LIfe)0 -

One of our local running stores has just about all the races withing 50-100 miles on their website, so you could check yours. Also, active.com does have a great list, but they don't always have the small races.0
