Hi! Fran here.....
Started going through the big "M" and the weight showed up like a bunch of unwelcomed relatives!
In January I cleaned out my kitchen, ate GREAT, exercised like a champ and in one month lost....TWO POUNDS!!! REALLY??
Anyway, I started keeping a food journal and all I can do is just eat better, take my vitamins and make sure I get enough calcium.
HItting 50 is, well, for the birds. I LOVED my 40's and always looked great but now someone yanked the hand brakes on my metabolism without my permission.....siiiiiiiiiiigh.
So, here I am...yay! ;-)

I am having similar problems, I am 47 and I am pre-menapausal, so I never know when I will have a period. I have found that when I skip a month I seem to gain a pound or two, is that normal? Because it is very frustrating.0

Hi Fran,
I turned 50 this past March...and the signs of menopause followed pretty quickly after. Hot flashes, night sweats and weight gain...especially my mid-section!! I have found this site so helpful, I have always been a pretty healthy eater but now I am counting the calories and getting exercise of some kind everyday. What I have noticed since do this for a little over two weeks is the significant reduction in my hot flashes, I am not getting them very often at all anymore, plus I have lost 4lbs! Feel free to friend me if you like. :flowerforyou:0
