I went and saw my nutritionist whom i have not visited with since i started this site. I asked her how much i could lose, how many extra calories i need for BF and she said it depends on the person. Some people do not burn a whole lot making milk, others do. She said to play trial and error. Eat a certain amount and see if you lost or gained. If you gained, then you can take you cals down a couple hundred but no more than that at a time. If you lost too much, then up your cals a bit. She said your milk will take from your daily diet except for fat. If you don't eat enough fat, then it will take it from your bum. That does not mean to go fat free!!! Just means we don't have to worry so bad about our milk. So in a nutshell, eat right, watch your supply, watch you don't lost too much at a time, and watch how you feel and that your baby is growing. i have been having a hard time losing weight cuz I'm eating too much, not realizing i don't need it. What a relief! lol Of course this may not work for everyone, I just thought it could take out some of the guess work. By the way, she's skinny and pregnant and stays that way and nurses too, so i guess she know something! lol

good to know I nursed all 3 of my kids and no weight dropped off at all until they went down to 3 feeds a day and mainly food ( about a yr) then it all just comes off. Think my body says that storage of fatty cells are needed.. and thats that!! My boy is 17 mths now and weight is coming off at a constant rate so im happy with that xx0
