Where did it all go?

Motivation is not static. Sometimes you are very motivated and then the next day you wonder where did it all go? Maybe I am just not a motivated person? Not true!
You have to start by asking yourself three questions and the first question is the most important. To build motivation start by asking yourself "Why?" Why do you want to do something? Most of us make the mistake of jumping right into taking action before we do the internal work of getting in touch with "Why." Spend time thinking, about why something is important to you. Then, when you are clear about your "Why", you can ask yourself the second question which is, "How am I going to manifest this?" The "How" is the plan. A realistic plan will fit in with other commitments you have and will include omitting things you are currently doing that really don't matter. When creating your plan the third question you have to answer is, "What am I going to do?" "What" are the specific actions you will take. Decide what the important milestones along the way are so that you can celebrate your progress. Experiencing progress and success toward your goal is very important to staying motivated.

For example, I want to lose weight and exercise regularly. By asking myself why this is important I discover it is because I want to be as healthy as possible so that I can live as freely as possible. Free from having a chronic disease, free to have the physical strength to do what I want to do and to be free from wondering, "Will those pants look good on me?" To manifest this I must exercise regularly, eat well, and keep my mind clear so I create a plan that includes, exercising five mornings per week for one hour, spending time after dinner preparing a healthy lunch and snacks for the next day, and spending time being in nature by taking my dog for a walk in the park after work.
