This is BEYOND amazing! I had my Food Production students do this for a final today and I almost drooled all over myself! I have NO CLUE what the nutrition information is, since all the sites are blocked...so if someone wants to figure that out... I'd love you forever!

3 Jennie-O Italian Turkey Sausage links, casings removed if you wish
2 Tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 Tablespoons finely chopped green pepper
1 garlic clove minced
15 oz tomato sauce (or just one small can if you don't want to "dip" it)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
10 oz can of refigerated pizza crust (could make your own)
4 Tablespoons Ricotta cheese (Low-fat)
1 cup shredded Italian cheese blend
4 oz can sliced mushrooms
1 small can sliced black olives

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. In a skillet, cook the turkey sausage until cooked through.
3. Add onion, green pepper, and galric; cook over medium heat, drain and set aside.
4. In a saucepan, bring tomato sauce and Italian seasoning to a boil. REduce heat; cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir 1/2 cup of sauce into meat mixture; keep remaining sauce warm.
5. Unroll pizza crust on a floured surface. Roll into a 12 inch square; cut into 4 squares. Spread ricotta cheese over each square to about 1/2 inch of the edge. Top with meat mixture. Sprinkle with cheese, mushrooms, and olives.
6. Fold dough over filling, forming a triangle; press edges together with a fork to seal.
7. Place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve with remaining sauce.

It was, I was totally shocked...cause usually I don't like swapping out beef for turkey.... SOOOOO GOOD! It actually tasted better then most pizza I've eaten (and I do love myself some pizza).
  • You said seperate into four slices to make four different calzones? If it is 4 servings, the calories per each one is only 157, if it's 2 it's 314. Hope this helps!!!!!

Calzones are like a "pizza sandwich"
It's like a bundle filled with pizza toppings.

    I have done many varieties...
My fiances fav is "Hawaiian" (Canadian Bacon and pineapple)
    I love the one above...
However you can tweak it to your own preferences...
