New person here! *waves*
I'm not new to dieting and fitness...I actually have had quite a rigorous program in the past, and never seem to have trouble losing weight...But health issues have forced me to rethink the way I do things. I'm no longer able to run or do forceful aerobic exercise. I went on a heavy exercise program in January, consisting of p90x and Turbo Jam, mixed with walking and running, and I lost nearly 30 pounds by early May. Then the health problems set in, and I am pretty well forced to sit for most of the day. Even washing dishes has to be done in shifts (think the spoon theory, I suppose). Since May, I've put on about 25 pounds from not being quite as active. I'm still eating the right foods...I enjoy fresh foods, and am not a consumer of anything with palm oil or high-fructose corn syrup; I stay away from the sodas and my kids are learning to do the same...and that has probably been the only reason I have not gained more weight.
Looking forward to connecting with others like me - I'm a mom of five young kids (aged 10, 8, 7, 6 and 4), who loves to be outdoors being active with my family. I'm positive that with the right motivation I can get myself back to where I need to be.

Hello, Jess! ♥ I'm glad you found me!
Thank you, impudentputz, for the lovely welcome.0 -
Like you, I have health issues and have done nothing but gain weight the last 5 years. I started this site Sept 1 and have lost 5 pounds so hopefully I can knock off the remaining 40. It is hard when you go from moving all of the time to being able to do far less. Anyway, I am older than you and my daughter is grown so I have it a little easier as far as doing my meals and all. Good Luck0
