I like meat, but not in large quantities and I sometime have diffuclty meeting the minimal protein requirement. So I bought a whey powder protein supplement and was wondering if it will affect my weight loss. I have used it the last 2 mornings. I set my goals for 1-1/2lbs a week, but haven't lost more than a pound the last couple of weeks. I have been trying to mix up my workouts. I am over halfway to my goal and need some advice to meet it.

Thank you!!!!

As long as your calories still fit into your daily intake, the protein will not hamper your weight loss ;)

Are you drinking a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day? Check out this article...believe me drinking the water helps tremendously!!

I'm very similar in that I don't eat a lot of meat and don't like fish or egg/much dairy- so get very little protein.

I bought Sci-MX diet shake, which has a good amount of protein in it, and would have 1-2 a day during my first 8 weeks, i've not had any since and have noticed i've been munching a lot more and putting on weight.

the good thing about protein is that is keeps you fuller for longer, so a shake at say 8-9am would keep me full till 1pm ready for lunch, whereas two slices of toast i'd be hungry again by 11am!

Because you're full, you're less likely to snack and therefore you should see a difference - i did anyway :)

I'm going to be buying some more soon as it really helped me!

    Hope this helped!!

I make a protein shake for breakfast most mornings. I have done this for about 2 or 3 weeks now and am still losing about a lb. or see most weeks. The protein keeps me full longer.
