I like to buy a whole chicken (it's often cheaper than a bag of chicken breasts), and set it in the crock pot all day. It usually feeds my husband and myself for most of the week. You can pair it with a potato or different veggies or do chicken tacos, enchiladas, or fajitas!0

Home made soups. Simple inexpensive, you can control what you put into them and they are not loaded with sodium like store bought. Home made soup makes a lot of meals. I make a big batch and end up freezing some for later use. I do this with chili as well.
Tuna fish is inexpensive, and simple. I eat it right out of the can someimes I might add a little light mayo or onion.
Eggs "natures wonder food" inexpensive as well. You can make egg salad, you can have hard boiled eggs. Scrambled eggs, veggie omelets, you can do alot with eggs. Make a tuna and egg salad.
I hope this helps you some!

I agree with the soups - a crockpot, some meat and/or veggies and beans and you can have a fabulously delicious and healthy, cheap crockpot full of food for several meals. You can buy the bags of dry beans for like .50 cents each, get 3 different bags and toss about 1/8 cup each into the crockpot with some meat, veggies and seasonings. There are a bunch of great, easy recipes out there for crockpot stuff.
Chicken is always good - baked, grilled, or done in the pan. You can make chicken salad (chop up chicken and add some greek yogurt and a few tablespoons of red. calorie mayo, some grapes, celery, walnuts, salt & pepper, dill weed..) Same with tuna salads.0 -
I was also going to say -- shop around for the best chicken prices. We have a small, local hispanic market and they run some awesome deals on chicken all the time b/c they sell sooooo much of it. We got boneless, skinless breasts the other day for a $1.19 a pound!!! We stock up when its on sale and just toss in the freezer for later.0
