What's first? Picking oneself up by the bootlaces

So when you "fall off your wagon", which is so common around here, what's the first thing YOU do to get back on track?

Do you change your goals and slice your calories down to the bare minimum?

Do you go for a walk, a run, or burn it out for two hours?

Do you look for support and advice from MFP'ers or friends?

Do you try a "cleanse" or join some kind of accountability group?

What's your first go-to for getting back to your goals and staying true to your target?

    I usually b!tch about it, and get my eating back under wraps. Very rarely is exercise an issue for me . . . my wagon trail is packed with food land mines.

    I usually create a meal plan for the week, and then make a shopping trip for healthy foods. Having a plan set keeps me focused.

    Log it honestly - plan your days meals ahead of time for that day and the next. Eat what you are supposed to and just take it as a day you slipped off the wagon :-) No extra stress, no extra worry. Just log it, plan ahead, and keep plugging along! If you have time for a little extra work out great, but just stick to your workout routine.

    that would make me cry right now, and head straight for the ice cream. For me, the mirror is so subjective. I can look in a mirror, go binge eat, or look in a mirror and go run for an hour, and come back and see something TOTALLY different.

    Agreed. I hate the mirror still, some days I see great abs and other days I see *kitten* cellulite.

    Likewise!! I am struggling too with making my way back to positive when I feel like I've "failed" or have just had a bad day. Looking in the mirror only adds fuel to the fire of negativity for me :/

    Maybe going for a walk makes me feel better? Nothing that's too big of a push, just something to get me out of the house and get my heart rate up.

    I just take a deep breath and remind myself how good it feels to have things finally "click" (body responding, muscles stronger, clothes fitting better, energy through the roof, running further than I thought possible). That's never happened before, and I'm too addicted to that "high" to stop it now.

    And I look at the photos of me from last Christmas when nothing was clicking. UGH. That's enough to make me run after the wagon yelling, "HEY, WAIT FOR ME!!!!"
