Without a lengthy explanation, I can't remember being under 220 or anything but a size 18.

The other day, I find my jeans fitting much looser, my waist is a tad more defined, and my shirts aren't feeling so tight. While these are all really great things and I feel so accomplished, the closer I get to under 220, the more bittersweet things become. No doubt, there's the reason that people don't really like change and all of that, but even with these small things happening, I feel like I'm not "myself".

Is there anyone with any advice for motivation and how to cope?

This may sound really weird but take your favorite outfit and have it altered so that it still fits. I have one top that I absolutely refuse to give up (for now). It's a bit like comfort food only not fattening!

Try to be conscious of what reasons might have been behind your excess weight - eg. for some people the excess weight is a physical manifestation of an emotional need to keep others at a distance. If there are emotional reasons behind your weight then you may regain if you don't come to terms with them.

After I had my daughter (gained 60lbs) I really had no motivation to lose it. I was quite comfortable. Then one day a random stranger on the street called me fat. It honestly hadnt occured to me that I was fat. I began a long journey to lose the weight and even once it was all gone and people were telling me how great I looked I still felt strange. Like I had lost me somehow. I was not comfortable fat or skinny. I just wasn't. Over the last 10 years I have put all the weight back on and that is why I am here. I am almost back up to the weight I was when I had my daughter 11 years ago. That scares me! I want to see her graduate and get married. I want to be that girl who got compliments. Even if i cant see how great I look.

Pride? Take supreme pride in your new look/your clothes getting smaller. Stand a little taller, embrace the new you. If you don`t value the new changes you are making then who else will?

I am sure you have lots of people around you who depend on you for lots of things...so it is fantastic that you are taking care of yourself.....be proud x
