I have trouble staying within my sugar every day. I am given 24 grams of sugar a day, but 1 cup of grapes has 25 grams! I don't understand how it's possible to eat your fruits and vegetables and stay under 24 grams of sugar.

I TOTALLY agree. I stopped looking at sugar. After 2 servings of carrots I was done for the day practically. I don't see how it's possible!0

I was just about to post the very same question.... If I eat 3 servings of fruit it puts me off the charts on sugar:grumble: How do we remedy this???0

Your body reacts differently to natural sugars, so a lot of the members here don't count the natural sugars that they consume in their daily goals (they still log them but subtract the sugars that are natural and unprocessed from their sugar goal). If most of your sugar is coming from fruits and things like that, I wouldn't worry about it too much...unless you have diabetes or other blood sugar troubles, and then I'd talk to your doctor about what would be best for you. I eat a lot of fruit as well and I go over my sugars most days, but I don't usually worry too much about it.0

Thanks BrandNewLaura! :flowerforyou: Good to know.0 -
I do not pay attention to sugars at all. I am so obsessed with carbs as it is if I tracked sugar I would never eat a single carb. I just make sure my carbs are whole grain and unprocessed whenever possible and add no sugar to anything. I use xylitol to sweeten. I think I would go nuts if I monitored my sugar since I have had low carb diets beaten into me since I was a kid and I am already trying to get over the fear of carbs. Obviously they do not work in the long run for me or I would not be this fat! :frown: I eat as whole and clean as possible and leave it at that and try to make sure my other macro nutrients follow the guidelines set by MFP.
