Hey im 22,female,5'6",157. I am looking to lose 7 more pounds I'm not in a rush. What I'm confused about is the bmr vs rmr concept. I get what they both mean but I don't understand the calculations. My bmr is 1450ish and my rmr is 1750ish. I didn't write them down but its around there. Anyways. When I go to the gym I burn at least
500 calories. Do I add 500 calories to the rmr which will be around 2250 for estimation.

Do I subtract 2250-1450= 800... So my deficit for the day is 800 calories?

Please help thanks

So your RMR is your Resting Metabolic Rate (How many calories you burn a day just doing NOTHING, nodda, sitting). It seems like the BMR, your Basal Metabolic Rate (how many calories you burn JUST to keep your vital organs functioning)...

    Hm, that is interesting... lol.

    Oh, right, your question.
Since your RMR is what your body burns when doing nothing. They told me to just eat 100cal below my RMR to lose weight. They also said to NOT eat back my exercise cals.

Unless you've had PROFESSIONAL people tell you what to do with your RMR and BMR, I would just follow what MFP has to say.
