I tried a different type of tea green, jasmine tea, after reading about the health benefits including weight loss.Id had it before and I remember feeling a bit queasy, but I put it down to something else. It was first thing in the morning so I had an empty stomach..Then i started feeling queasy again and actually was sick. I found out, apparently, that this is a side affect of drinking green tea on an empty stomach as the polyphenols can produce excess stomach acid. weird fact! just wanted to share it! not be drinking that again!

I started trying to drink a lot of green tea because I heard that it can speed up your metabolism (if you drink at least 5-6 cups a day).

But my doctor made me stop drinking it altogether because it gave me a tremor!!

I drink pure green tea every morning, without a problem. Is it the green tea or the jasmine tea that caused the issues?

I have never had that problem. It may be because I drink green tea with mint. Very yummy. I also wait until my 10 o'clock break to drink it and usually have it with oatmeal or a protein bar. I don't think I have ever had it on an empty stomach.

Yep, I found that out a while too, I'd have some green tea before having any food in the morning and it made me feel very green! It took a little while to figure it out, but I now drink it after breakfast and it's fine :)

A bit of tentative research on teh interwebz makes it seem like jasmine *does* mess with your gut bacteria a bit when consumed on an empty stomach.
