does anyone have a recipe for tasty low cal cookies with no sugar? I made what I thought was a good recipe. unsweetened carob chips, honey, flour, vanilla, almonds, coconut, raisins, oatmeal, dash of cinnomon, baking soda, and an egg, but after dividing the total calories into the number of cookies.. They were a whopping 88 calories a piece ( and not that big)!!!!!

Hey, sorry I can't offer you a recipe - all I can recommend are a brand of chocolate chip cookies called Vive Lite. They're only 44 calories each - yum!

I'd love to read what other people recommend though, I prefer to make my own.

Betty Crocker Peanut Butter ones are 2 cookies for 120 calories.
  • 88 calories is actually as low as you're ever going to get unless you're making meringues! Meringues are made with egg whites and granulated sugar, and depending on the size and recipe they range from 30 calories on up to over 100. I don't think you'd have much luck using a sugar substitute, but you could give it a try.

try using BIrch Sugar -- you can buy it at Whole Foods. It is natural and has 1/2 the calories of white sugar. It is expensive, but worth the splurge every now and then. Also you can try stevia -- be sure to use a specific stevia recipe and the correct form of stevia called for.

EDIT: Also, you can generally omit 1/3 of the sugar in any recipe without adjusting other ingredients or affecting the quality.

    1 cup of peanut butter
    1 cup of splenda
    1 egg
    1 tsp of vanilla extract
Mix all together bake 350 10 or 15 min
I measure each cookie a tablespoon and mash with fork two cookies is whatever is in the peanut butter you is. around 90 calories for two.
  • Thanks for the idea about meringue. I am going to give that a shot with stevia and vanilla. should be good. Oh and maybe some coconut too!!! Thanks so much!
  • Thanks for the cute cartoon. Thats the way I feel about cookies. I know I am never going to stop eating them. but I recently cut sugar out of my diet so gotta find something!!!! thanks and keep up the good work you are doing.
  • That is half the calories of the cookies I have been making. Haven't cooked with splenda but will give it a try . thanks for the recipe!! Trula
