Hello everyone. My name is Chris.
I initially started my diet in August in preparation for a week long cruise next month, but I am now convinced it really can't be a diet, it has to be a new, healthy life change. I've lost 16.5 lbs. since August 22nd - and need to lose another 30 or so. I have no problem staying on track during the week, but the weekends are hard. I am 48, separated, live alone and don't get out much because socializing usually includes alcohol (in my world) and I (TRY) to limit that to Friday evenings now - I guess I should say Friday and Saturday because that's usually what it turns in to! I keep 2 of my grandchildren (out of 5) every other weekend, so that helps.
First, let me say that I have not intentially exercised EVER in my life and it caught up with me at about 40. I would do Adkins for a couple of weeks, lose the weight and go back to doing what I was doing before and gain it all - and then some back. I decided I had to do more than just watch what I was eating! So about a month into the diet, I bought a glider and use it for at least 20 minutes in the morning and at least another 15 in the evening. I JUST (2 days ago) bought the small Golds Gym trampoline and am going to trying to do the circuit training on it every other day as well, but it is kicking my butt! And forget the jumping - apparently there is not one coordinated bone in my body! I also dug out my bicycle, but even after buying a gel seat, it really hurts my butt, so I don't ride for long! Thinking of buying ANOTHER gel seat to put on top of the one I have to see if that helps!
So, anyway, I just found this site from someone posting on the cruise critic site, so here I am. Hoping to learn some new things, get some new tips, meet some new people and find more ways to stay focused on the weekends.......
Thanks for listening!
