Hi all,
I'm down to losing the "last 5 lbs". I'm currently 20% body fat, but still feel as if I have some areas I'd like to tone up. Any tips on losing body fat and building muscle at the same time? My caloric intake is fairly low (baseline 1200 + eating back most of my exercise calories). I feel as if I've hit a plateau and am just building muscle and not losing any body fat. How quickly can I expect my numbers to go down? I have my next weigh in in about 3 weeks. Thanks!

20% body fat on a woman is not high. That's at the low end (lower being less fat) of the "fitness" level.
To build muscle you need to eat more. Muscle in itself burns more calories and if you don't eat enough, you're burning away the muscle. Up your calories and strength train.0 -
Do you muscle strength training ? You can eat all protein you want but still not going to build with out lifting. I am now at 15-16%BF from 19-20%. My base line is 1500-1700cc, I eat most of calories from fitness too. But my weight is the same as 4 moths ago, but BF is down0
