IF I would do my excercising all at one time. I have found on my days off I will make 20 min or so here or there for exercise? Today I did 20 this morning, 25 this afternoon, and I could possibly still find time to get 20 in later this evening. It is much easier than finding an hour to block out and at my weight it seems I can do more than if I would try to do a continuous hour.

If you do it in one block, you're more likely to maintain a higher heart rate for longer, so ye it would be better. That said, what you're doing fits better with your lifestyle, and two slots are better than 10 :)

My Doctor said to do exactly what you are doing. By doing 20 to 30 min 2 or 3 times a day, you keep your metabolism going.
  • I read a fitness article that stated more frequent, shorter workout routines are better.

Its all about that heartrate! above 160 for 30 mins is a good standard. But any exercise is a good thing. Just keep in mind during your short workouts you want to really get your heartrate up quickly and keep it up for the duration. :-)

Some recent studies have shown that it's actually better for your heart to do it this way, especially if you have a sedentary lifestyle. It is better for your health to do several short exercise sets throughout the day, than to do a solid hour and sit the rest of the day. For weight loss only, I doubt it makes much difference. If you move around a lot outside of exercise, then it really shouldn't matter for health either.
