Please send me your mood boosting food ideas. I add spinach, blueberries & rasberries to my smoothie already but what are some of your ideas and why are they good?

There's two ways of looking at this - foods that chemically make me feel good and foods that mentally make me feel good...

Putting my neurobiologist's hat on, I would recomment foods that boost your tryptophan levels such as bananas, milk, chicken, turkey and leafy green vegetables.

But, heck, anything that feels and tastes good in the mouth also boosts my mood (coffee with a dollop of cream, sticky toffee pudding, custard, risotto. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm)

I find colorful foods mood-boosting. Also anything that reminds me of childhood/ traditions etc.
For example- Salads. Add as many colors as possible through veggies. Use fun plates, glasses, place mats etc. Even if nothing matches get some bright colors in your life!
For more comforting foods- My dad always made pancakes from scratch on Sunday mornings. Make foods that remind you of happy times.
Make your food fun too. It may sound silly but make shapes out of things, organize your plate in a weird, fun way etc.

hmm, I don't eat when I'm down. I KNOW, not good, but true. I TRY really hard, but food does not cheer me up.
