You can buy shoes/purses/hats/watches and a dinner at Ruth Chris and stay under $500.00?
I'm a bargin shopper so yeah I don't buy stuff at retail only clearance
Good for you. I couldn't wear a watch that was less than $500. I take that as offense.

I don't think he was bragging about money, but to argue your counter, I own a home, and have a watch collection.
I also don't think that a $480.00 date is "Upper Elite Class".

In one's opinion maybe. But the way we did it in class was: We had five groups. The lowest group had a total of $30 dollars to spend, the next group had $100, my group(the middle class) had $160, the next group had $250 and the last group had $480.
  • When I was dating my hubby, he rented a limo, took me to a very nice Italian restaurant (2 bottles of wine along with a 5 course meal), drove around in the limo for 2 hours and then went to the Hyatt hotel for the night. Way more that $480 though but it was AMAZING! ;-)
He called ahead to the hotel and had them put rose petals all over the floor, bed, and bathtub. It was so freaking romantic! ;-)

I would take my husband to one of the state parks to spend the day hiking. Pack a nice picnic lunch. And then with all the money, go to Louisville's 4th Street Live and drink and dance and drink tons more.

I would buy a great outfit, shoes, and then go to Jack in the Box. Okay, I'd splurge on Panda Express.

$480. Odd number. Why not an even $500?

A nice restaurant, and a Red Sox game. Even with mediocre seats, that's the whole $480.

I would buy 2 tickets to an upcoming concert, than make dinner reservations...before we hit that up I would take him to the conservatory or the botanical gardens and take lots of pictures...and a Tim Horton's coffee to wrap it up...of course the $480 would also have to include paying the babysitter

My "dates" usually cost $500. Of course if I head to Tijuana I could probably get that down to around $250.

2x concert tickets $250 (that's about right in australia)
meal for 2 somewhere nice $120
drinks and cab ride the $110

i'm not really into the hotel rooms, it just doesn't seem worth the money to me to spend hundreds on getting a bit of booty and sleep (i can get that for free at home), i'd just get rid of the kids for the night and that'd make me happy...

My boyfriend and I have Super Dates :) We take turns planning a Super Date that the other person doesn't know about. Last time was my turn so I took him out to a fantastic brunch (he loves a good bloody mary) and then we went to Golden Gate park for a segway tour (yeah we are geeks, hehe, but it was soooooo much fun!!!!). Then after that I took him to our favorite place for a snack and a drink. Then we walked around a bit. Then we went to an awesome dinner in San Francisco.. then to see a band play some Jazz. The last part of the date I took him to see Darrell Hammond at a comedy club.

We were so freaking tired after that date.... but it was so much fun! I probably spent that much throughout the day :)

That was my idea of a great date, hehe.
AWWWWWWW That is 2 cute! I will run that by my hubby! SUPER Date! What a great idea!
