try to look for fresh veggies
stop by a grocery and purchase some fresh items, then make a meal at your hotel?0 -
Check out my blog. I travel pretty often and eat out quite a bit. I may have some helpful tips there.0

All I can say is: You will be tempted with CAKE!
It'll be rude to refuse, but it's ok to just have a taste. Take make 1/4-1/2 the size of a slice you may normally take.0 -
If you are going to Santa Cruz, then there is nothing you can do. If it were anywhere else...
Pack baggies with grapes, nuts, veggies, berries, and oatmeal(I make a serving with brown sugar, so all I have to do is add water/milk and nuke it.) If there is a fridge, get some yogurt, cottage cheese and milk.
Go to places that you can get a healthy meal if you have to eat out.0 -
Fruits and veggies.... also you can keep some Slim Fast on hand or a few protein bars in your purse so if you go out to eat you won't be as hungry. You can always order some grilled fish or chicken and plain veggies or a nice big salad. Just make sure you don't get tricked into big calories with the salad. Ask the resteraunt for their nutritional info. Most places have items are their menu that are below 500 cal now. And try and get some walking in, a great way to sight see! Have fun! And remember, a little splurge once or twice while you are on vacation is ok.0

If you will be eating out a lot, be sure to get grilled meats, with all sauces on the side.
baked potatoes, or even just steamed veggies as sides....
Also - try to do extra walking to burn off a few extra calories!!!
GOOD LUCK!!0 -

I knoooooow. well, knowing my sister cake and alcohol. I'm guessing moderation is key for the cake, though I want to avoid the alcohol if possible.

I don;t know how.0 -
Stopping by the grocery store is a good suggestion. I would add get one of those prewashed veggie party platters, and you'll have a variety to snack on.0

Well, in California, restaurants have to put the nutritional info on the menu, so that's lucky for you! I'd just keep tracking calories & I'm sure you'll do great0
