New Goals being set

Well, after talking with a lot of MFP buddies and seeing posts about how I should not worry about what the scale says and go by my size and inches and how I feel, I have decided to create some new goals for myself:
1. Be able to run 6.0 mph for 20 min on a treadmill without stopping by June 2012
2. Be able to walk 4.5 mph for 60 min on the treadmill without stopping bu June 2012
3. Be a size 4 by June 16, 2012 (my wedding date)
4. Be able to do 100 sit ups without stopping by June 2012
5. Be able to do 100 girl push ups by June 2012
I am almost a size 16, I am hoping to be a size 16 by November 1st.
I am going to eat a lot of healthy cereal with 2% milk, until I can wean myself onto skim milk. I am going to eat lean meats (no red) and a lot of veggies. I am also going to do the 6 week body makeover starting sunday oct. 9, 2012. So wish me luck. I will keep everyone posted on my progress and will create a link to my vlogs on youtube when I start making them.....

That sounds great! I am so proud of you. Just throwing something out there though. I dont know if it will work for you. But I noticed when I stoped eating cereal in the morning I was more satisfied and not hungry for hours and felt good. I switched to a high protein breakfast of one or two eggs cooked in as little oil as possible over a piece of 100% whole wheat toast. I immediately stoped feeling hungry all the time and felt more satisfied all day. If you get bored with your cereal you have another option.0

oh and the two things I watch like a hawk in my food diary is reaching or exceeding my fiber goals and protein. Since we are trying to tone up and are exercising and not just cardio so we need more protein. And the fiber will do two things, make us feel full longer, feel more satisfied and well keep our digestion system running smoothly if you know what I mean. Oh and I cant stomach skim milk either, not even 1 percent. But I recently discovered almond milk! OMG so yummy, has good fats and is only 60 calories per cup, that is half what 2 percent milk has. Just another idea. Oh and fats are good for you, make you feel more happy, more satisfied and you wont feel like you are dieting if you get enough of the good fats in your diet. Your body will be more happy. Try to include things like avocado, olive oil and I love to snack on edamame, you can get it pretty cheap in a steamable back at walmart. You get everything you need with that, fiber, protein and good fats, the same goes for almonds. I took a bag of crisps for a snack at work. But was still hungry less then an hour later. But when I took the same calories in dry roasted almonds I felt full satisfied and the calories felt well worth it.0

good luck! oatmeal, weetbix, bran and untoasted muesli are the best cereals for you.0

Thanks trisharrell, I will try it, but is it okay to use only egg whites and whole wheat toast, or does it have to be the whole egg? I am always up for healthy alternatives to cereal, so if you have any other meal ideas let me know!
Trisharrel, I just read your second post. Thanks for all of the info! I have never tried almond milk but I think I will buy a half gallon tomorrow to try it, I have tried chocolate almond milk and I LOVE it! I have tried edimime and love it- especially on salads!!! I have to go and get some more though. My problems with nuts is that they are so high in calories for a small amount. Snacks kill my calorie intake.0 -
I guess you could use only egg whites but if you look up the research the yoke is where most of the protein and nutrients are and personally i think that egg whites are gross along the lines with skim milk. It is the healthy fats in the egg yoke that your body will respond to and say 'I have had a meal and I feel happy" But that is totally up to you. The research that you have to not eat fat to loose fat is wrong. It is true that fat is highest in calories except for maybe sugar. But it is something the body needs. And it actually aids the loss of body fat and retaining of lean body mass to get enough fat in your diet. So dont avoid the fat, just find a balance of calories, protein, fiber and fats0
