Here's the rule:
- pick a celebration/holiday (birthday, wedding, anniversary, Valentines, Easter, your child's birthday, whatever) as deadline - preferably in a couple of months
- fix a set of lifestyle changes you wanna make by then (or resolutions, that you want to practice on  )
- report in once a week (pick your day) or even more often, if you need to (might just as well be my case)

anyone.gif I know there's a flood of challenges around here  , but I so need this :embarassed: .

Okay, I say a 10 lb loss by Valentine's day. That's about 4 weeks away, and even though I am taking it slowly, I figure that should be a realistic goal. :drinker:
  • Im up for the 10 lbs by valentines day challenge....

I'm getting married on March 16. This is exactly the challenge I've been looking for. I started working out and eating better on Jan 5th. So far I've lost 2 lbs.

This time last year I was at a good weight. I exercised and used MFP. I reached my idea weight, stopped exercising, and started celebrating my engagement. I've gained about 15 pounds in a year! I would like to lose these 15 by the wedding.

I changed my ticker to reflect 10 pounds. I think it will encourage me if I see a smaller, more reasonable goal.

Awesome! I have company, yeah! :flowerforyou: Thank you for joining me  .

My b-day is a week after Valentines, so that's a good deadline  . Prob is, I only have 6lbs to lose, but, boy, are they stubborn  . So, the changes I wanna make (list to be extended  ):

    - stick with not eating past 8 p.m.
    - limit the treats/food I'm not happy with to 300cal a day (not worth wasting more than that on bad food :grumble: )
    - stay within my calories (and not freak out at lunch by how little is still left :grumble: )
    - find each day 1 thing I'm happy about (I plan for long now to maintain a list of accomplishments each day)
    - burn weekly at least 1500cal

    Here I go :drinker:

Oh yeah! You do that too? Freak out at lunch about how many calories you have left, that is...

I have started trying to record my dinner with my lunch. That has helped to allieviate my fears that I will still be hungry. If I really need to go over, I try to exercise away the difference.

I have started trying to record my dinner with my lunch.

Didn't quite get you - you record dinner at lunch time, lunch when you have dinner or plan both in advance? Must be just me being tired...

Which, btw, brings my to updating my list:
    - stick with not eating past 8 p.m.
    - limit the treats/food I'm not happy with to 300cal a day (not worth wasting more than that on bad food grumble )

    - burn weekly at least 1500cal
    - get to bed before midnight! (11:30 p.m., if I could)

I log my dinner in advance. Sometimes my lunch, too, if I haven't already eaten it. Sure, I may have to adjust it, but I get an idea of what I am planning to eat for dinner is going to cost me. If it's more calories than I had anticipated, I try to cut back on lunch. If my dinner fits in nicely, I can plan to have a snack, too! That helps me not to freak out about not having enough calories left for dinner, and enjoy my lunch.
    - get to bed before midnight! (11:30 p.m., if I could)

I'm here. I was a bad girl over the weekend and ate at Olive Garden for lunch on Saturday. I hadnt been there in ages and couldnt resist the alfredo. I ate a simple green salad for dinner that night. Hopefully, it evened out a little.

    Sunday was better.

    Today, I get serious.

I'm not sure if I can lose 10 before Valentine's because I tend to gain muscle weight easily. I would like to lose an inch from my waist if I can't lose the weight.
  • Okay...so I may have to adjust my goal..Im down 4.4 lbs this week soo..maybe I should try for 12 lbs??? I do have to admit its probably water weight this week and I shouldnt expect it to keep going but...Im working out instead of laying around soo...maybe not?

    How is everyone this week?

I went to the gym today! I did 10 minutes on the bike and 20 on the eliptical. Then I worked out. So far I'm doing ok on calories.

    Yeah!:drinker: Good for you! :flowerforyou:

I rode my exercise bike, and I have been eating within my calories. It is amazing how much food you can eat with a little creativity!

    WOW :noway: well done!!! :flowerforyou:

I'm 1 month away from my b-day! So time to get serious

Monday was almost perfect, until I blew it at 10 or 11 p.m., and blew it completely  (went over my cals and crossed my cut-off time). But yeah, ready for the new adventure  .

    Hello hello

    Just checking in.

Yesterday was my first day of school. I'm going back to college to become a teacher. I was pretty busy but managed to squeeze in 1.5 miles on the treadmill. I didn't log my calories and probably went over about due to the celebratory vodka drinks I had.

Today, I did 3 miles on the treadmill and my calories are fine.

    Good luck!!
  • Sounds like everyone is working towards their goals...Good Luck and I will check in again on Monday!

Hey, everybody! Nice to see newcomers - welcome! :flowerforyou: (dancer, nice to share a challenge with you again  ).
So... I know I said "weekly report", but I need to report today, cos yday way my first real day :)

    Birthday Goal:
    - no food past 8 p.m. - DONE
    - max 300cal a day for sweets - DONE (I had a fruit yogurt only in the evening, cos for the first time in ages I had calories left!)
    - stay within calories (I was bellow, yeah :drinker: )
    - make accomplishments list - not there yet, but I reported in the "Daily gratitude check" thread
    - burn weekly at least 1500cal - done my share of the day yday, I burned about 400.
    - get to bed before midnight! - done that!

So... if all goes well, I might try to report only once a week (have not yet decided which day is my official weigh-in day, but I think that will be Sundays)

Good luck, everyone, looking forward to your good news. Stay strong! Every day is a new day

    :flowerforyou:
  • Good Morning...4 days till the Valentines Challenge is over....hope all is well...Is everyone on track to making their goal?

Heh, I kinda gave up on this one. Too many things I want, maybe too much of a perfectionist and too little energy lately.

How's everyone else doing? Hope you guys were better at it than me.
