Does black tea lower blood sugar

just wondering. You see, if I drink a cup of black tea on an empty stomach I always get nausea and have to eat something to make it go away. And I would really like to know why. It never happens if I drink the tea with my meals. Strange, huh?

Yeah that is a wee bit strange, i don't drink black tea anymore cause it was starting to stain my teeth but it never made me feel sick. Would ya not drink it with milk?0

Green tea would actually be better, and usually doesn't hurt the stomach. Black tea has lots of caffeine and tannin in it which is an irritant to the stomach, especially if you drink it on an empty stomach. You might try it, plus it has been touted to help blood sugar too. I'm a diabetic and the only tea I drink is either green or herbal.0
