So this may not seem like a big deal to some people ... however, for people who have been overweight their entire life, it's stupid things like this that we notice that most people dont even think about lol .... My NSV comes in the form of my ankle bones. Just as some background info, I have never been able to see the bones in my feet .. (or ankles, knees, collarbone ..... basically any bone that can "disappear" on the body, i havent seen lol) ... My mom and brother have long and lanky limbs .. and they have bones in their feet no matter what their weight is .... My dad and myself are not so lucky -- we're both short with little legs and arms .. ( I'm LOL'ing as im writing this hehe) -- and we have self-described "Barney Rubble Feet" ... ANYWAYS .. I've been doing alot of walking lately as part of the Costume Changers Halloween Challenge (100 miles by Oct 31st!!) .. And while I was getting dressed to go out last night, I stood infront of my vertical mirror and did the checking out the size view look, and i saw my side ankle bone sticking out of my skin!!!!!! I literally gasped and looked to the other side to make sure it wasn't a mirage, and low * behold -- ITS ON THE RIGHT LEG TOO!! .. I had to bend down and touch it just to be on the safe side before i reported my findings to my mom lol ..

I've always had a thing where I'd look at skinny peoples ankles and see the side ankle bones as well as that bone that sticks out the back of the ankle (my anatomy teacher would kill me if i couldnt tell him the back ankle bone .. EEK!) .. and obviously i noticed that i never had it ... Its just one more little victory that I can now claim my own =)

I understand, though the thing I want most is the bones on my hips to show again. LOL, it's only happened once in my life, maybe it'll happen again :)

Good for you!! Beware new razor blades though...shaving around a protruding ankle bone when you are not used to it can be different. I think I have gone through a box of bandaids since mine popped out. :ohwell:
  • Great for you!!

:( even when I was thin and every other bone popped out I never had that thing in the back of my ankle....I guess I'm built with cankles? Meanwhile my sister has one constantly no matter how big she gets....sigh

 LOL @ Cankles! .. My legs are where i pack alot of the weight .. but for some reason I dont have hips and my butt is flat? dont really know how that happens lol ... but the other thing ive noticed (something else i was super excited over) was when i found out I had a kneecap lol .... when i would shave my legs, I was getting cuts over it all the time .... It amazes me when I shower that my legs actually have curves to them rather than just being a straight line from thigh to ankle ... now, i have a nice curve in my knee and my ankles are now smaller than my calves ... it sounds so weird even as im writing this but people will definately know what im talking about haha

I just checked and my ankles could still use a little work lol.

    Way to go girl!
