Vita Tops

I keep seeing posts asking about vita tops and if they are healthy
They contain:
2.5 tsp of sugar per serving.
sugar alcohols (Lower calorie sweetner compared to table sugar)
Natural and ARTIFICIAL flavors added.
Inulin- A fiber additive.
Soy Lecithins
Xanthan Gum.
Do I like Vita tops? I do. But they are still PROCESSED food! Don't let the packaging fool you.

Zomg! but then again so is whey protein so, i guess that makes it unhealthy?0 -
I do like Vita Tops as a "healthier" option treat. I actually just ordered some of the new banana chocolate chips vita tops and their new english muffins so we shall see0

I never said it was unhealthy. I said it was still processed!!0

that is my bad then, you posed the question that people ask if Vitatops are healthy or not then you finish with they are processed and not to be fooled, which would seem like you were associating processed foods with being unhealthy0 -
No question was posed. Telling people what is in a product that claims to be healthy.
It's still a processed food. What's healthy about alcohol sugar or 2.5 tablespoons of sugar per serving?
And yes eating non processed food IS better than eating processed food. Known fact.0 -
Yes they are processed, like most supposed "health foods". They are not raw or organic like say an apple....... but compared to a Big Mac- they are pretty "healthy". It really depends on whos perspective you look at it through........ the fitness nut or the couch potato? Could it be a step in the right direction- maybe.
They so also contain plenty of fiber and some protein..... which are good things. Would they qualify as an equal to a fruit or vegetable- Ugh No. Do we need to point out that a prepackaged item with a shelf life of xx days is "processed"? Ugh Probably not?0 -
Rome wasn't built in a day.
Its difficult to get away from all processed foods. I've made a concerted effort to focus on more natural food choices in the last 5 months, but I still eat some processed foods.....and from January through April, I ate quite a bit of processed foods (including Vita Tops) and lost 24ish pounds during that time.
Even though I haven't had a Vita Top in a while, that new banana/chocolate chip flavor sounds like something I want to try0 -
