When tracking my exercise I get several different readings: on here for 45 mins on the Elliptical says you burn 618 cal, my machine says 389, and I just got a watch that monitors HR and calories burned and that read 603. Am I really burning 600 calories in 45 mins? seems like a lot compared to 389. I guess I just want confirmation that I'm really working that hard? I'm certainly sweating!!

Does your HRM have a chest strap? Did you put in all your stats..height/weight/age.ect..if so..then go with the HRM. Some burns on MFP..arent ...quite as accurate..some under estimate..most over estimate...0

i would go with your heart rate monitor as the most effective!!! Great burn :-)0

If your HRM has a chest strap -- use that number.
Yes, elliptical is possible... I easily burn about 100 calories every 10 minutes on that.0 -
I burn 1000 cal on the ellipitical during 60 minutes with my heart rate around 140-148. So 600 cal for 45 minutes sound right.0
