I needed to find something for dinner, I was out of ideas, and I wanted Chinese food. I found a recipe on the Kraft website using the Toasted Asian Sesame dressing and tweaked it a bit. It tasted so good and I am definitely making again!

The calorie count comes out to 263/serving not including rice.

3/4 lb. sirloin steak, thinly sliced
1/2 cup Kraft toasted asian sesame dressing/marinade
2 cloves garlic, chopped or pressed
1 large or two small onions, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 broccoli crowns, chopped
1/2 t. Chinese five spice blend
1/4 C Soy sauce
1 t. corn starch

Add marinade to steak, set aside. Spritz olive oil in saute pan. Saute garlic for 1 min., add onion and green pepper. Cook about five minutes. Add broccoli, cook and stir about five more minutes. Add spice blend and soy sauce, stir. Remove from pan. Add steak and cook 4-5 minutes. Add vegetable blend back to pan. Make slurry w/ corn starch, add to hot pan, stir. Cook a minute or two longer until slurry has thickened. Can add more Soy sauce, spices, or marinade if needed. Serve over hot cooked rice. Makes four servings.

Some measurements are approximate because I sometimes cook by taste or look. My husband said I should add carrots next time.

Hope you enjoy!

Totally forgot to add - the calorie count will go DOWN if you use the light version of the dressing. I did not have that on hand, but I will next time.

What is chinese five spice blend?

It is found in the spice aisle of most grocery stores. Used often in asian cooking, it is a blend of anise seed, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon, and fennel.
