I really am going to achieve this, right? The last couple of days I've just felt like I am spinning my wheels and getting nowhere so I would love someone to say I will get to the end of this if I keep going on! It is a very slow process for me and seems to take twice as long to lose what others do.

How do you stay motivated?

Be patient and steady! If you're losing slow, all the better, it won't come back as quick if at all! :) Keep up the good work! x

You aren't alone. Sometimes I look at my self in the mirror and think, OMG I have so much to loose. But I'm determined. For me it's all about improving the quality of my life. There is so many things that I can't do because of my weight. But I know there is a skinny me just waiting to come out. There is one in each of us!

of course ypu are going to achieve it. some people just take longer to get there than others thats all if you don't believe me check out the success stories, they've all got there or are on their way to it, and i reckon all of them will have faced the same problem.

keep your chin up and stick with it x

I keep looking at all the success stories here... and thinking 'why shouldn't that be me?'. When I can't think of an answer... I feel better.
Hang in there - every minute that passes takes you one minute closer to goal.

Don't give up.....I know it can be a slow process and for us 'mature' ladies it really is more difficult. I am getting there bit by bit and I'm sure you will too.

I stay motivated by creating an environment condusive to success. My bedroom is my sanctuary, it's mainly where I workout and keep my fitness journal (tracks inches lost, what i ate, how I felt that day, goals, etc) within reach. What i allow myself to think about is key. I visualize the things things I'll be able to do with each mini-goal succeeded (ie, strength to rock-climb in the spring, or be able to run properly, without my weight holing me back, or being able to fit into smaller jeans, etc).

Also, I reward myself. My 1st reward is henna tattoos (I'm overseas, gotta be creative). My next reward would be pro-pics to email my family (I'm currently travelling, won't see them til after Christmas). My other rewards are a tattoo, new stylish winter coat for after the new year, dance classes, etc.

Above all, just looking ahead to how I'll get to feel once I'm able to do all the things I want to do when I get back home (outdoor activities, keeping up with the kids at the park, swimming/wearing a bathing suit in public, etc)

Speak positive, it's an everyday thing you do for yourself (and those around you). :flowerforyou:
  • get your mesuring tape out and measure ur waist, thighs and hips......believe me i thought i wasn't getting anywhere untill i noticed the inches were coming off!!!!!!

its soo slow but u will be very surprised how quickly u will get back on track.....i had a horrible two weeks of thinking WHY DIET!!!! but i pushed along.....had a few hamburgers, biscuits and way too much coffee that keeps me sane, but i started jogging to balance out my eatting for those two weeks and I also hid my scales as It was becoming an obbsession.

Now im ready to conquer my diet again, just take it week by week and if u fall get back up and keep trying..... good luck
