I have been using the plan for about a month and have only lost 2 pounds :( I have been under calories all but 2 days and even then I was only over by about 12 calories. I have also been walking/biking on most days for 15-25 minutes. I have made big changes and am discouraged by the scales. I know this isn't going to be easy and I am not giving up....but I thought I would see more results. Darn.

Everyone loses weight at a different range. Your body may be just taking longer to adjust. As your diary is not open, it is hard to know what you are eating. Are you way under on your calories b/c this is not good for you. ARe you keeping track of your sodium?

Also, moving 15-20 minutes is great....see if you can change the pace of things. For example, if you are walking, start off walking slow for 5 to 10 minutes, and then increase the pace for 5 minutes and slow down again. Change paces changes your heart rate, and this burns more calories. Good luck.

Don't give up! We women over 40 have to get good with SLLOOOOOOW loss. But you are going in the right direction, and the pace can vary all at once when you least expect it (or when the hormones decide to let it). Also, small things like adding ten minutes to your walk, or walking a little faster, can goose the metabolism.

Hang in there. I'm friending you, and you should friend my friends; the support helps with this aspect alot.

Sometimes I go 3 - 4 weeks and don't really lose but I don't really gain. I'll fluctuate 1 or 2 pounds then one day I will lose 3 or 4 pounds at one time. Keep it up, if you are really under all the time and exercising, it will come off. I don't know your age but the older, the harder it is to lose.
  • What are your cals set as?

^This is not only true, it's proven by recent research. I have added these "higher intensity intervals" and it helps.

Yeah...and even tougher at 50! I am thinking menopause is my problem...I have had to bump up my exercise and try to eat all of my calories.

I get it. I've been on since March, and I've lost 28#..that's only about 4.5# a month. Really slow! But, if I continue, that's 54# in a year. I just turned 60 last month..and i find it very frustrating that age plays a part. My kids are losing like crazy..it seems it just falls off them. But then, they're boys. Sigh...
I agree, make the diary public, change up your walking, do the intervals, it does burn more. Plus, if you've been walking 20 for a while, move it up to 25. Keep adding time till you can go for an hour. Drink tons of water too.
Stay with it, read stuff on here...forums, blogs and such. You'll get great ideas.
good luck with your journey. I know you'll do well. :drinker:
