How do good dieters, that would be you, not me, feel about energy shots? Like 5 Hour Energy, or Stacker 2 Xtra? Good, bad, ugly? Since I can't drink coffee I have been getting my morning pick-me-up via 2 Hour Energy, aka Mountain Dew, for a few years, a habit I need to change.
They are 0 calories with 2000% of the RDA of vitamin B6 and 8333% of the RDA of Vitamin B12. Same caffeine as 2 cups of coffee. Those numbers seem extreme but I'm reading them right off the bottle I bought from the vending machine at work. Just curious if this kind of indulgence is or can be harmful.
I posted this on my wall but I'm looking for more feedback.

well, they dont really do anything for me, so i dont like them but i dont see how they hurt anything, but alot of people dont like them cause they have a ton of "non natural" ingredients. i stick to water most the time or coffee/tea.
but dont get me wrong i drink alot of diet coke too lol.0 -
Try get your energy from natural foods. The more natural the better. But it's not BAD to have - i don't think - just don't make it a habit?0

They make my heart race, so none for me.0

I am not sure if it is bad but I do know it is also not that good for you either. I was the same way. I was addictied to soda and even got headaches when I tried to stop it. If you could I would eat apples and natural foods becasue they can give you the same amount of energy but the natural way. They wake up your metabolism and that in turn wakes up you!!! good luck. I know it is hard to stop them but good luck. but watch out I had a heart problem that I didnt know of and energy drinks can trigger it.0

I used to fall asleep daily at work around lunch time but since I have started lifting weights and watching my calories I haven't felt tired at work at all.. But, I have tried the 5 hour energy before I started MFP and I have to say it was great.. I took it around lunch time and did not feel tired at all and didn't crash. But it was too expensive to keep buying.0

I actually took the energy shots before I started my workout/diet, but now find no need for them anymore. I just take a vitamin and usually a ginseng pill prior to my workouts, but other than that, I go without them. I don't think it would be bad in the beginning especially if you have a job that can be draining, but try to get in shape the best you can so that you won't have to rely on those and can use your natural body energy:)0

I used to drink them when I was heavier. 400 + lbs. heavy. never did a thing for me. After losing over 100 lbs. I took a sip of one, forgot brand, some fruit flavored one. immediately gave me a headache and chills. never again, lol.0
