Hi - I am Nette, I have been off and on this site much like all my other attempts with diets. However today I met with a customer who has lost 75 pounds using this website so her story has inspired me. I have a long road ahead but going to take it one victory at a time without looking at the numbers. Good luck to all!

some suggestions so that this isn't yet another failed journey:

really think about why your past efforts have failed. there are usually physical and mental reasons for falling off the wagon. think about the things you can do differently. when you say you "tried every diet out there", you have probably been looking for a quick fix. there are no quick fixes that work long time. you have to accept that this is going to be a journey and that losing weight slowly (1-2 pounds per week) is the best way to ensure it stays off. if you try something that promises faster weight loss....well, sure, you might lose weight more quickly, but its going to involve doing something that is not sustainable and probably wreaks havoc on your metabolism.

second, the mental part of the journey is tougher than the physical part. our bodies adjust faster than our mind does. therefore, some mental programming would be helpful. start off with spending some quality time thinking about that first paragraph and then WRITING the stuff down...what went wrong and what you are going to do differently this time. then really give some thought to specific things that you HATE about being overweight. be brutally honest. make the list a long one (unless you really do enjoy being overweight and, if so, that's fine as well). WRITE this stuff down in a place (your MFP profile maybe) that is accessible. you will want to read it often to remind yourself why you have chosen a healthy lifestyle journey.

thanks for the insight! I know part of my failure stems from the frustration. I seem to put out so much effort and the results are so slow to be returned that I give up. Such as I did p90x for 3 weeks and lost half a pound. I will try to note things and be accountable!
