    I think you need to tell him the truth, that you just don't feel enough of a connection to meet him...that you're uncomfortable with his suggestion that it would be appropriate to meet at your house on a second date, etc. If you don't tell him the truth, then he's going to keep bugging you and you will keep putting him off. I suspect that he would have more ill feelings from being put off than from you simply telling him the truth up front..

    I'm glad you let him know early as he was probably looking forward to it and would feel worse if you waited until the last minute. It's good he took it well. :)

    So he didn't even ask about YOU and YOUR interests? Just told you his life story, huh? Could be nerves, but if you don't feel a connection, don't bother.

    There are several reasons why a woman would NOT invite a guy to her house on the second date, not because she has a hubby... Just tell him you don't think so, and move on... NEXT!!!
