    nice article!
i like the bit about eating after 7- i've heard though that if you dont eat after 7 it can help people who are leptin resistant become more leptin sensitive. not sure how not eating after 7 would do this mind you, i mean what if your like me and wake up at 1 in the afternoon :)

I heart everyone, but the bonus is wrong.
There are benefits to all alcoholic beverages, but there are some in red wine (the presence of polyphenols) that are not in white wine, beer or hard liqour.
Likewise, unpasteurized beer contains protein and folate from the presence of live yeast, which the rest do not contain.

    Also:
Hard liqour is beneficial in maintaining a healthy sex life for young adults (HA!), and helping to weed out weak and dying brain cells.

I agree with almost all of this, especially the water part! :P

However, it still has on myth in there, the "eat smaller meals more often" thing. Even thoogh this report is "science" , far more "science" has disproved this. It says if you skip one meal , you body goes into starvation mode, which simply is not true. It takes days for your body to go into starvation mode, not hours.

    Great post Jovia!!

I use my wooden cutting board for everything. All those chefs can't be wrong!

I stopped buying ALL low fat and reduced fat foods about a year ago now.... so many of those foods are filled with chemicals and tons of sodium to make up for what they took away.

I try to avoid the manufactured health foods, but Im also lazy and like to have em around for when my bf is chowing down on the full fat high calorie versions lol

I just love that you have Jesse from Breaking Bad on your ticker!

I had to take a break from that show, it was getting too intense and emotionaly draining. It means they have fantastic writers but it was really bringing me down. Is that weird?

    Are you kidding?
I bawled for a good 20 minutes ...like all out sobbing...when Jesse's gf Jane died.
I had to pause for it and everything.

The show has made me sit on the edge of my seat and clench my fists and jaw every episode.

Oh, totally! And his spiral down after?! I just wanted to hug him so much.

There is no humor in that show at all.

Walter is getting super creepy too.

I missed the season finale last night and saw a spoiler on twitter. I actually screamed at the person who posted it cuz they were in a list that I thought had no fans of the show lol

    (((((((Breaking Bad)))))))

I too was admiring your ticker...though I strongly disagree that there's no humor at all in the show. I laugh in each episode. It's dark, but it's there.

I don't recall if I cried when Jane died, but I did sit there with my mouth hanging open, I know that...

Oh, and I too was wondering WTH was up with the "skipping breakfast leads to starvation mode" comment in the article. I guess some things depend on *whose* science you listen to...

I second you with the mythbuster about drinking so much water but…

Water is very helpful for controlling hunger pangs. If you chug down a glass of water before a meal, you'll probably eat less during that meal. On that basis, I'm 100% for drinking water but there is no need to drink that much water.

Insofar as "starvation mode" coming on in "days" - think months, not days. Hunger is not starvation. Losing weight on a low calorie diet is not "starvation mode". Starvation mode requires that the individual eat very, very little (I ate 800 to 1k cals/day for 7 months and never hit starvation mode) and disregard very obvious health issues.

You're right, there are some good LINES. I think Jesse has the best one liners in season one. Season 3 & 4 just got SO HEAVY. AMC has amazing, amazing writers. The continuity in Breaking Bad and Mad Men is unparalelled, in my opinoin.

...Should we just start a Breaking Bad fan forum?!

    We really, really should.
This show is like my life lately and Im horribly depressed that the season is over and theres only one left.

Which makes me a sad human being, but I see a lot of people saying the same things.

Oh man, I hate spoilers. Therefore I hate being someone who reveals them. Oops.
