Strange Swelling on Ankles

I've been dealing with this ever since I picked up running about 3 years ago. It started with just my right ankle. On the outside, it would get a small golf sized ball filled with what feels like fluid after running. I got new running shoes with ankle support. The problem persisted. It would go away after about an hour.

Now, it swells anytime I walk or run, and its starting on my right ankle as well. I switched to minimalist footwear as a way to hopefully correct my horrible way of walking. All of my shoes are worn on the inside as if I must be rolling my ankles in when I walk. The swell on my left ankle is always there any time now. I've also begun having pains in the front parts of my ankles. I'm only 22 and incredibly active, so this is bothersome to me.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what this may be, or should I just suck it up and go see someone?

I would say you need to go see someone - especially since it seems to be getting worse. I swell but it is the whole ankle area- not just pockets.
