Does anyone incorperate use of a steam room in their weight loss. I read a few yrs ago in a health magazine that 10 min in a steam is equal to 5 min on a bike. Has anyone else heard of this? My health club has one and I love using it, I know my pulse is over 100 when im in there, so I know I am buring extra calories, just not sure how many.

A steam room or dry sauna really has no health benefit other than relaxing after a hard workout. You cannot, and will not ever, get fit by sitting on your butt in a steam room.
Don't get me wrong though, steam rooms or dry saunas are fantastic for recovery after a workout. But that's really the only thing they provide.1 -
I only use the sauna or steam room as a reward for a hard workout.0

I use the dry sauna and steam room pretty regularly. I am really skeptical of claims that it is equivalent to exercise. It is good for recovery, and from what I have read it can stress your system and have an effect of metabolism, if you use (These studies were for the dry sauna) it regularly.0

No health benefits.
It will make you warm and toasty, but will also dehydrate you.0
