Pre-workout snack

I do my exercise first thing in the morning before breakfast and work.

Since I really don't want to be eating at 4:30 a.m., what do you folks think about a quick protein shake before workout. I would think that would give me enough energy and get my blood sugar up enough to get in a decent workout. Then a healthy brekkie after.

Comments, ideas?

    Protein shake, fruits, oatmeal, etc. I usually eat a 2 whole eggs or a protein shake pre-workout.

    I wake up at 430 as well for my morning workouts and I do not eat my breaskfast until I get to work...but I always need something in my tummy before the gym...
    I do either a teasppon of peanut butter, or string cheese. =)

    I wake up at the same time to go to swim practice. Except I'm bad and don't eat anything beforehand ;x But it's only 2-3 times a week. Every other day I eat breakfast first thing in the morning.

    I come home to a nice bowl of oatmeal and protein shake after my practice.
